Reliable gear, consistent quality

This was my third order from North45, this time for a Merino Wool Base Layer. I've always been happy with their stuff. The base layer is super comfortable and warm, just what I needed for the colder days on the slopes. Shipping took about a week to get to me in Utah, which is typical for them. Their quality is always spot on, which is why I keep coming back.

Good balaclava, shipping could improve

I ordered the Deep Winter Balaclava and it's pretty solid. Kept me really warm during some brutal winds. The magnetic attachment system is quite clever and definitely helped with goggle fog, though it took a little adjusting to get it just right with my helmet. The website said 5-7 business days for shipping, but it actually took 9 days to reach me in Colorado. Not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. Overall, a good product and I'd consider buying from them again, maybe for some thermal socks next time.

So, if I get a balaclava and it doesn't fit, can I actually return it? Even if I wore it once to try it out on the slopes?

I returned a neck warmer that was too big once, and it was easy enough. They do have a policy for trying it on but not for actual use on the slopes from what I remember.

Yeah, if it's been worn skiing, I don't think so. They're pretty strict about it being in new condition if it's been used, but trying it on at home is fine.

Are these magnetic balaclavas actually way better than, say, an Anon MFI mask for fogging? My Anon one fogs up like crazy sometimes.

I used to use Anon and switched to North45. The fogging is definitely less of an issue, especially on really cold days. The magnets really do work.

Hey guys, thinking about grabbing one of these magnetic balaclavas. I usually wear a L/XL helmet, what size balaclava should I go with so it's not too tight but still fits well under the helmet?

I just went with my usual hat size and it fit perfectly under my helmet. They have a size chart on the site too that's pretty accurate.

Definitely go for the Deep Winter. That one is thick and super warm, keeps your face from freezing. I use it for literally anything below -10C.

The Midweight is good for most days, but if you're talking proper deep freeze, the Deep Winter is the only way to go. It's a game changer.
